Dave Crossland - Declares Extension of Summer; Gigs in Mass, Conn, Maine, and Texas

Hello you wonderful people.

I've decided to postpone the end of summer, so please feel free to continue frolicking in the hot sun until further notice.

August was awesome.  I took two non-gigging trips in the second half of the month.  The first, out to Colorado, was a week-long songwriting intensive with some great people.  I wrote 4-1/2 completely new songs, and took part in my first co-writing experience.  Spent a couple hours by a river with Tom Prasada-Rao (http://www.myspace.com/tomprasadarao) and came up with a great little pop-song-with-meaning.  Can't wait to show it to you all.  I also met Peter Himmelman (http://www.peterhimmelman.com/news.html), who is a frikkin' genius and pretty much threw me into a new creative world.  On one day in particular, I was challenged with writing a song about gravity in 45 minutes --long story.  Can't wait to show that one to you, too....

After Colorado, I stopped through Nash Vegas.  Hadn't really been there since I moved back to Boston a few years ago, and it was great.  I met up with a few industry types and lot of songwriter friends, and just took in the town.  My old neighborhood in East Nashville is hardly the same place I used to live.  There are signs out there that say "Historic East End" now, and the low-down-and-dirty laundromat around the corner is now quite a hip little bar/restaurant/venue.

Anyway, I've been writing songs, seeing good friends, and having a great summer.  Thank you all so much for making it happen.  Hope yours has been good too~

So, got some gigs to tell you about, and hope to see you soon!

Your pal,

Dave
