The Set That Wasn't
released 2008 Cheap Red Music
2008 dave crossland, cheap red music / ascap
Dave's first concept album. This is a live, studio recording of the set he was going to play at the Kerrville Folk Festival in 2007 --featuring the band that was going to play it.
The festival appearance was canceled on account of rain 15 minutes before Dave and his band were to take mainstage. This recording was made in about 4 hours, as Dave and his band played through the set twice, without a click track or punching in to correct "mistakes". There was a time when they made all recording this way...
Incidentally, Dave and his band have been invited to a rematch with Mother Nature, and are scheduled to play mainstage at the Kerrville Folk Festival, in Kerrville, Texas, on May 24, 2008.
